With the current low unemployment numbers it is very difficult to find qualified individuals. SO long as the Town Clerk is a resident there is no need for the Deputy Town Clerk to be a resident. A qualified non resident is 100 times better than an unqualified resident in this position!

It is ridiculous to think that a Deputy Town Clerk wouldn't need to live in and be a registered voter in the town they'd be sworn in to be a Deputy Town Clerk when the position clearly must be able to step up and perform the duties of a Town Clerk in his/her absence.
