Charter schools can and have redirected tax dollars intended for public education schools that operate under guidelines. Charter schools do not share those same guidelines. There have been issues with the misallocation of funds by Charter schools and what I truly dislike is the increased amount of harmful treatment of unique students in charter schools that goes unaddressed by staff. It seems to me that advocates for charter schools are doing so for their self-interest, financial and moral. In redirecting money these schools have been known to fail with a complete loss of those dollars. Religious charter schools can be nothing more than an incubator of a church's faith, neglecting the well-rounded education a citizen needs to have a diverse culture.
