Corrections: prisoners; good time system; update corrections code to reflect. Amends secs. 20g, 33, 34, 34a, 35, 36, 38, 51, 65 & 65a of 1953 PA 232 (MCL 791.220g et seq.) & repeals secs. 33b & 33c of 1953 PA 232 (MCL 791.233b & 791.233c).

This bill needs to be passed and made into law! ASAP! Where is the incentive for a model prisoner to keep good behavior and lead as an example to other inmates. Plus we need these individual's to be put back into society as a functioning tax paying person, not stuck in a prison costing the state and tax payers money! This law should have never passed in the first place and needs to be abolished, There is only a few states currently not allowing "Good Time Credits" all the others states see the benefits of having this active in their prisons. Why is Michigan so far behind in getting this passed? Are you aware that Michigan is the #1 state in the country for the length of time served and consistently outspends all other states on correction? Sincerely, Scott R Holly
