AN ACT REQUIRING MUNICIPALITIES TO PROVIDE A PENSION TO POLICE OFFICERS AND FIREFIGHTERS THROUGH PARTICIPATION IN THE MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT SYSTEM OR ANOTHER COMPARABLE PENSION SYSTEM. To require that municipalities employing police officers and firefighters provide such police officers and firefighters with pensions through the municipal employees' retirement system or another system that offers comparable or superior benefits.
