Connecticut Senate Bill
AN ACT CONCERNING COMPLIANCE WITH MENTAL HEALTH PARITY LAWS. To: (1) Require the Insurance Department to conduct regular audits of health insurance companies to ensure compliance with the Paul Wellstone and Pete Domenici Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act of 2008, P.L. 110-343, as amended from time to time, and regulations adopted thereunder, and the mental health parity laws and regulations in this state; and (2) establish a civil penalty of fifty thousand dollars per incident for any health insurance company that fails to comply with federal or state mental health parity laws and regulations.
