The Illinois Senate convened with an invocation by Reverend Joel Jackie Hugh, who prayed for guidance in serving the state and its people. Following the invocation, the Pledge of Allegiance was led by Senator Johnson. The Blue Room String received permission to video stream Paul Elders, with no objections noted.
Senator Gloriak-Hilton moved to approve the Senate Journals from February 4th, 5th, 6th, and 10th, 2026, which was ordered without objections. Senator Gloria A. Kilton moved to postpone the reading and approval of the journal from February 19th, 2026, pending the arrival of printed transcripts, which was also ordered without objections.
Several resolutions were introduced, including Senate Resolutions 627, 628, 629, 630, and 631, all celebrating life, and a congratulatory resolution, Senate Resolution 626.
