ACTION ALERT: PT Practice Act Update

One of APTA-OR's priority bills, HB 3824, which would enhance the practice of physical therapy, is scheduled for a public hearing this week. Your legislator needs to hear from you, so they know how important it is to take action on HB 3824 this session.

HB 3824 would:
  • Align the practice of physical therapy in Oregon with the Model Practice Act established by the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy
  • Allow physical therapists to certify a patient's disability placard or license plate application.
  • Improve access to and timeliness of patient imaging by allowing PTs to order and interpret imaging
  • Protect the title “Doctor of Physical Therapy or DPT” to ensure that only those holding a doctoral degree in physical therapy are permitted to use this title and abbreviation.
Please personalize a message to your legislator and let them know what HB 3824 would mean for you in your work serving patients across Oregon.
Take action now -- it is vital for your legislator to hear from you this week.
