One of APTA-OR's priority bills, HB 3824, which would enhance the practice of physical therapy, is scheduled for a public hearing this week. Your legislator needs to hear from you, so they know how important it is to take action on HB 3824 this session.
HB 3824 would:
Align the practice of physical therapy in Oregon with the Model Practice Act established by the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy
Allow physical therapists to certify a patient's disability placard or license plate application.
Improve access to and timeliness of patient imaging by allowing PTs to order and interpret imaging
Protect the title “Doctor of Physical Therapy or DPT” to ensure that only those holding a doctoral degree in physical therapy are permitted to use this title and abbreviation.
Please personalize a message to your legislator and let them know what HB 3824 would mean for you in your work serving patients across Oregon.
Take action now -- it is vital for your legislator to hear from you this week.
