As written, it removes the ability for parents to have oversight over the materials their children are reading and threatens to seek judicial ruling to determine whether certain library materials are appropriate for them or not. This legislation not only restricts parents' direct involvement in education content but also sets an excessively high threshold, court intervention, to address parental concerns. Further, section 3 criminalizes parents who may complain or call out a district employee with a Class E felony.
