Stop HB 60- Protect Housing Rights for People with Disabilities
The Senate will be voting on this bill on Thursday.
House Bill 60 and its amendment are bad for people with disabilities in New Hampshire because they make it easier for landlords to terminate leases without considering the needs of tenants who require stable housing to access medical services and community supports. The amendment allows no-fault terminations of tenancy and fails to ensure protections against sudden displacement which can be especially harmful to individuals with disabilities who already face barriers to finding accessible and affordable housing. This bill risks creating more housing instability and discrimination against tenants with disabilities.
