Our elections aren't working for either voters or candidates. In
elections across the U.S. and here in Oregon, voters are pressured to
vote “strategically,” campaigns are increasingly toxic and expensive,
and candidates who lack broad support win with less than a majority of
the vote – leaving voters feeling like our voices aren’t heard. As
voters, we deserve to vote for candidates that reflect our communities
and whose values we share.
RANKED CHOICE VOTING: A SIMPLE WAY TO IMPROVE OUR ELECTIONS
Ranked choice voting is a simple improvement to our elections, giving voters more power and more meaningful choices.
By giving voters the option to rank candidates in order of preference,
ranked choice voting results in more representative outcomes and puts
more power in the hands of voters – where it belongs. Now, we have an
opportunity to bring it statewide to Oregon.
