1 AN ACT modifying the date for approval of one charter
2 school by the Wyoming charter school authorizing board;
3 correcting a typographical error; and providing for an
4 effective date.

6 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming:

8 Section 1. 2023 Wyoming Session Laws, Chapter 179,
9 Section 4(b) and (c) is amended to read:

14 (b) Notwithstanding any other provision of
15 the law, not more than three (3) charter schools
16 shall be authorized to operate by an entity other

1 than a school district board, prior to July 1,
2 2026 July 1, 2024. The three (3) charter schools
3 authorized by the state loan and investment board
4 shall count towards the three (3) schools
5 authorized to operate under this subsection. In
6 the event a charter school previously authorized
7 by the state loan and investment board closes for
8 any reason, the Wyoming charter school
9 authorizing board may approve a new charter
10 school.

12 (c) Except as provided under subjection
13 subsection (b) of this section, but not prior to
14 July 1, 2026 July 1, 2024, not more than one (1)
15 additional charter school shall be authorized to
16 operate by an entity other than a school
17 district, prior to July 1, 2028.

1 Section 2. This act is effective immediately upon
2 completion of all acts necessary for a bill to become law
3 as provided by Article 4, Section 8 of the Wyoming
4 Constitution.
