Promoting obscenity-educational exception amendment.

A BILL
for
1 AN ACT relating to crimes and offenses; amending an
2 exception to the offense of promoting obscenity relating to
3 educational and library activities; and providing for an
4 effective date.

6 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming:

8 Section 1. W.S. 6-4-302(c)(ii) is amended to read:

10 6-4-302. Promoting obscenity; penalties.

12 (c) This section shall not apply to any person who
13 may produce, reproduce, possess or disseminate obscene
14 material:

1 (ii) In the course of bona fide school, college,
2 university, museum or public library activities or in the
3 course of employment of such an organization, provided that
4 the production, reproduction, possession or dissemination
5 is in accordance with policies and community standards
6 approved by the elected governing body of the school
7 college, university, museum or public library.

9 Section 2. This act is effective July 1, 2023.
