Intimidation of election officials-doxing.

A BILL
for
1 AN ACT relating to elections; creating a new criminal
2 offense of intimidation of election officials as specified;
3 providing a definition; and providing for an effective
4 date.

6 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming:

8 Section 1. W.S. 22-26-111(a)(i), (ii) and by creating
9 a new paragraph (iii) is amended to read:
10
11 22-26-111. Intimidation.

13 (a) Intimidation consists of:

1 (i) Inducing, or attempting to induce, fear in
2 an election official or elector by use of threats of force,
3 violence, harm or loss, or any form of economic
4 retaliation, for the purpose of impeding or preventing the
5 free exercise of the elective franchise or the impartial
6 administration of the Election Code; or

8 (ii) Soliciting the contribution of funds, other
9 items of value or election assistance to the campaign of
10 any candidate, candidate's committee, political action
11 committee or sponsors of a ballot proposition, by use of
12 threats of physical violence or any form of economic or
13 official retaliation;. or

15 (iii) Knowingly making available on the internet
16 personal information about an election official or an
17 election official's immediate family if the dissemination
18 of personal information poses an imminent and serious
19 threat to the safety of the election official or the
20 election official's immediate family and the person making
21 the information available on the internet knows or
22 reasonably should know of the imminent and serious threat.
23 For purposes of this paragraph, "personal information"

1 means a person's home address, home telephone number,
2 personal mobile telephone number, pager number, personal
3 email address, a photograph of a person, directions to a
4 person's home or a photograph or description of a person's
5 home, vehicle or vehicle license plate.

7 Section 2. This act is effective July 1, 2023.
