HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION 66(By Delegates Ferrell, Stephens, Hite, DeVault, Mallow, Sheedy, Toney, Statler, and Winzenreid)[Introduced February 1, 2024; referred to the Committee on Technology and Infrastructure then Rules] Requesting the Division of Highways name Bridge Numbers: 20-077/00-110.10 (NB & SB) (20A228, 20A446), (38.46281, -81.64366) locally known as I-77 TUPPER CREEK  BRIDGES 110.10 NB & SB, carrying IS 77 over CR 29 in Kanawha County.  the "U. S. Army SP4 Lonnie "Bill" Walker Memorial Bridge".Whereas, Lonnie Avel "Bill" Walker was born August 8, 1944; andWhereas, Lonnie "Bill" Walker, was preceded in death by his wife Sandra "Kay" Walker on September 6, 1949, died April 12, 2013; andWhereas, U. S. Army SP4 Lonnie "Bill" Walker was awarded the following medals and badges: Purple Heart. Purple Heart (Firs Oak Leaf Cluster) for injuries in Vietnam, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Combat Infantry Bade, and Marksman Badge Rifle M14; andWhereas, It is fitting that an enduring memorial be established to commemorate "U. S. Army SP4 Lonnie "Bill" Walker and his contributions to our state and country; therefore, be it Resolved by the Legislature of West Virginia:That the Division of Highways is hereby requested to name Bridge Numbers: 20-077/00-110.10 (NB & SB) (20A228, 20A446), (38.46281, -81.64366) locally known as I-77 TUPPER CREEK  BRIDGES 110.10 NB & SB, carrying IS 77 over CR 29 in Kanawha County.  the "U. S. Army SP4 Lonnie "Bill" Walker Memorial Bridge"; and, be it Further Resolved, That the Division of Highways is hereby requested to have made and be placed signs identifying the bridge as the "U. S. Army SP4 Lonnie "Bill" Walker Memorial Bridge"; and, be itFurther Resolved, That the Clerk of the House forward a copy of this resolution to the Commissioner of the Division of Highways.
