1 A BILL to amend and reenact §17C-1-7 of the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, relating
2 to clarifying and updating school bus rules and the types of vehicles covered in this statute.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
ARTICLE 1. WORDS AND PHRASES DEFINED.
§17C-1-7. School bus.
1 "School bus" means every motor vehicle owned by a public or governmental agency and
2 operated for the transportation of children to or from school or privately owned and operated for
3 compensation for the transportation of children to or from school under contract with any county
4 board of education.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to clarify and update the definition of a school bus.
