1 AN ACT to create 84.10335 of the statutes; relating to: designating the Bart
2 Starr Memorial Bridge.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
This bill directs the Department of Transportation to designate and, upon
receipt of sufficient contributions from interested parties, mark the bridge on STH
29 across the Fox River in the city of Green Bay as the “Bart Starr Memorial Bridge.”
No state funds, other than from contributions from interested parties, may be used
for the erection or maintenance of any markers to identify the highway as the “Bart
Starr Memorial Bridge.”
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
3 SECTION 1. 84.10335 of the statutes is created to read:
4 84.10335 Bart Starr Memorial Bridge. (1) The department shall designate
5 and, subject to sub. (2), mark the bridge on STH 29 across the Fox River in the city
6 of Green Bay in Brown County as the “Bart Starr Memorial Bridge."
7 (2) Upon receipt of sufficient contributions from interested parties, including
8 any county, city, village, or town, to cover the costs of erecting and maintaining

1 markers at the bridge specified in sub. (1) to clearly identify to motorists the
2 designation of the bridge as the “Bart Starr Memorial Bridge," the department shall
3 erect and maintain the markers. No state funds, other than from the receipt of
4 contributions under this subsection, may be expended for the erection or
5 maintenance of the markers.
