The resolution congratulates Liliane Gordon from Hinesburg for receiving the prestigious Girl Scout Gold Award, the highest honor for Girl Scouts in grades 9-12. Currently a freshman at the University of Vermont's Grossman School of Business, Liliane has demonstrated exceptional leadership and commitment to community service. She captained the Champlain Valley Union High School girls track and field teams and initiated the "Get Active!" project to address rising obesity and mental health issues among young Vermonters exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. This project involved coaching young athletes, providing resources for parents, and creating a video showcasing the benefits of sports participation.

In addition to her Gold Award project, Liliane has been actively involved in her community and the Girl Scouts, serving as the top cookie seller for six years, a Girl Scout Ambassador, and participating in the Girls Rock the Capitol program. Her dedication to service is further evidenced by her involvement in various community initiatives, including Green Up Day and student council. In recognition of her achievements, she received an academic athletic award at her high school graduation in 2024. The resolution calls for the General Assembly to formally congratulate her and directs the Secretary of State to send copies of the resolution to both Liliane and the Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains.
