Weeks, White, Williams, and Wrenner Whereas, the submarine USS VERMONT (SSN 792) was commissioned on April 18,
2020 and is the third U.S. Navy vessel to be named in honor of the State of Vermont, and Whereas, the officers and enlisted personnel of the USS VERMONT have sustained superior performance, setting new standards for future U.S. Navy submarines entering the fleet, and Whereas, the presence today, April 18, 2023, on the third anniversary of the commissioning of the USS VERMONT, of selected officers and enlisted personnel who are stationed on this vessel provides an ideal occasion to honor them and all of their USS
VERMONT colleagues for their dedicated service to our State and country through their many hours of arduous duty protecting our nation and its freedoms, now therefore be it Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives:
That the General Assembly recognizes April 18, 2023 as USS VERMONT Day in
Vermont, and be it further Resolved: That the Secretary of State be directed to send a copy of this resolution to
the USS VERMONT and the USS VERMONT Support Group.
