Offered by: Representatives Anthony of Barre City, Galfetti of Barre Town, McFaun of Barre Town, and Williams of Barre City Offered by: Senators Cummings, Perchlik, and Watson Whereas, the Crimson Tide girls’ ice hockey team had, until recently, played in Division II, where they scored a perfect season, and Whereas, deemed ready for more challenging competition, Spaulding was reassigned to
Division I, and Whereas, in just a few years, the Crimson Tide validated this divisional transfer with a perfect season of play, winning 15 of their 21 games by at least a three-goal margin, and Whereas, at the Division I championship game, skated at the University of
Vermont’s Gutterson Fieldhouse against the No. 3 Burlington/Colchester SeaLakers, the Crimson Tide scored four goals during a nine-plus-minute second-period spree to win the game 4–1 and clinch their school’s first Division I Title, in any sport, since 2010, and Whereas, the thrilled Crimson Tide were Avery Burke, Ruby Harrington, Gracie Lunt,
Peyton LaPerle, Amelia Healey, Hannah King, Aubrey Tremblay, Kaya Moulton, Rylee Pelletier, Bellarina Fontana, Molly Parker, Lanie Thayer, Ellie Parker, Allison French,
Rebecca McKelvey, Lilly Mayo, Mattie Cetin, and Rayna Long, and Whereas, Head Coach Dave Lawrence, assistant coaches Brian Wilkin, Ashley Pelkey,
and Vika Simons, and team managers Maria Saldi and Amira Pelletier were elated, now therefore be it Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives:
That the General Assembly congratulates the 2023 Spaulding High School Crimson Tide Division I championship girls’ ice hockey team, and be it further Resolved: That the Secretary of State be directed to send a copy of this resolution to
Spaulding High School.
