12 Statement of purpose of bill as introduced: This bill proposes to establish a
13 new division within the Department for Children and Families to support
14 families with a member experiencing substance use disorder. It further
15 proposes that the new division encourage and support a parent with a substance
16 use disorder to seek treatment without risk or fear of losing custody of the
17 parent’s child or children.
