Swanton, Webb of Shelburne, Whitman of Bennington, Wood of Waterbury, and Yantachka of Charlotte Whereas, in 2018, the Eurac Research organization hosted the first World Congress on
Agritourism in Bolzano, South Tyrol, Italy, and Whereas, as a vehicle to build on the solid foundation established in Bolzano, Eurac Research, in partnership with the University of Vermont Extension, along with many local public and private sector sponsors, will, from August 30 through September 1, 2022,
convene the International Workshop on Agritourism at the Hilton Burlington Lake Champlain Hotel, and Whereas, agricultural service providers, educators, farmers, ranchers, researchers, and tourism professionals from the United States, Canada, Honduras, India, Italy, and dozens of other nations will meet at this exciting gathering to discuss running and marketing an
agritourism business, managing farm stays, promoting rural development, creating regional partnerships, and sharing research and case studies, and Whereas, the selection of Vermont as the workshop’s location presents the Green Mountain State with an unusual opportunity to highlight and enhance local agritourism,
and to foster this economically and environmentally important endeavor, now therefore be it Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives:
That the General Assembly welcomes the 2022 International Workshop on Agritourism to Vermont, and be it further Resolved: That the Secretary of State be directed to send a copy of this resolution to Eurac Research, the University of Vermont Extension, and the Secretary of Agriculture, Food,
and Markets.
