House Joint Resolution 1476, sponsored by Hazlewood, recognizes Derek Adam Webber for achieving the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest honor in the Boy Scouts of America. Derek, a senior at Chattanooga High School Center for Creative Arts, has been involved in Scouting since first grade and has held various leadership roles within Boy Scout Troop 166. His Eagle project, which involved refurbishing and repainting signs at the Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park, exemplifies his commitment to community service, completed with the help of thirty-one volunteers over 183 hours.

In addition to his Scouting achievements, Derek is active in numerous extracurricular activities, including music, sports, and community service organizations. He plans to study environmental science at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, aiming for a career in pollution mitigation. The resolution expresses pride in Derek's accomplishments and extends best wishes for his future success, acknowledging him as an outstanding young leader in the state.
