A RESOLUTION to commend and congratulate Tracy Powers on
the occasion of her retirement.
WHEREAS, it is fitting that we should specially recognize those citizens who have performed with uncommon devotion and enthusiasm throughout their years of public service;
and WHEREAS, after twenty-six years of service as director of Roane State Community College, Tracy Powers took her much-deserved retirement on June 30, 2023; and WHEREAS, as director of Roane State Community College, Ms. Powers served the
W.H. Swain Scott County Center for ten years and the Campbell County Center for fifteen years, in which position she enrolled, advised, and guided her students to success; and WHEREAS, Tracy Powers maintained one of the first campuses to offer Middle College,
allowing students to graduate from high school and Roane State Community College simultaneously with an associate degree; and WHEREAS, Ms. Powers also helped recruit students to campus, assisted high school students with dual enrollment, and helped students transition to a successful experience at
Roane State Community College; and WHEREAS, Tracy Powers exemplifies the spirit and allegiance to family and community that are characteristic of a true Tennessean; and WHEREAS, throughout her estimable career, Ms. Powers demonstrated the utmost professionalism, ability, and integrity, winning the respect and admiration of her students and colleagues alike; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED
THIRTEENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE SENATE

CONCURRING, that we extend to Tracy Powers our heartfelt wishes for a happy and fulfilling retirement, offering our deepest gratitude for her distinguished service with Roane State Community College and wishing her every continued success in her future endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to
the appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appear without House or Senate designation.
