A RESOLUTION to honor and recognize Kaylee Funk, 2023
Historian of Tipton Christian Academy.
WHEREAS, it is fitting that the members of this General Assembly should pause to pay tribute to those students who, through their natural talents and unflagging commitment to
academic excellence, have distinguished themselves in the classroom; and WHEREAS, Kaylee Funk is one such exceptional student, who was recently named Historian of the 2023 graduating class at Tipton Christian Academy; and WHEREAS, through diligent study, steady composure during examinations, and steadfast commitment of time and talent, Ms. Funk has achieved outstanding academic success and joined the ranks of the best and brightest students in Tennessee and our country; and WHEREAS, in her remarkable high school career, Kaylee Funk has earned an
exemplary 4.2195 grade point average and a 97.45 numerical average while participating in
numerous extracurricular activities, including ACT 30+ Club, Youth in Government, and cheer;
and WHEREAS, a leader among her peers, she has served as secretary of her school's National Honor Society, a senator of the student council, yearbook editor, and a student ambassador; and WHEREAS, Ms. Funk's display of intellectual aptitude and ambition surely bodes well for her future success as a student at Sally Barksdale Honors College at the University of
Mississippi, where she plans to major in marketing; and WHEREAS, Ms. Funk's noteworthy achievement is a tremendous source of pride for her parents, Allen and Michelle Funk, her school, and her community; and SJR0780

WHEREAS, Kaylee Funk's dedication to excellence is clearly deserving of the respect,
admiration, and commendation of the members of this General Assembly; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRTEENTH
GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE HOUSE OF
REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING, that we hereby commend and honor the 2023 Tipton Christian Academy Historian, Kaylee Funk, on her impressive academic achievement and extend to her our best wishes for a happy, successful future.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to
the appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appear without House or Senate designation.
