SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION 756

A RESOLUTION to recognize Benjamin Andrews upon attaining the rank of Eagle Scout.
WHEREAS, at a time when this nation's youth face difficult challenges, the Boy Scouts of America is one of our finest assets, providing young men and women with an educational program that contributes significantly to their character development, citizenship training, and improved mental and physical fitness; and WHEREAS, the highest rank a Scout can attain in the Boy Scouts of America Scouts BSA program is that of Eagle Scout, and Benjamin Andrews, after considerable effort and diligent preparation, has joined the prestigious Eagle Court of Honor; and WHEREAS, a student at Valor College Prep, Benjamin Andrews began his Scouting journey in 2013 as part of Cub Scout Pack 205 in the Wolf Den, where he earned the highest attainable rank, the Arrow of Light; and WHEREAS, Benjamin proceeded to join Boy Scout Troop 285 and attained the rank of
Eagle Scout; and WHEREAS, Benjamin's Eagle project greatly contributed to the betterment of his community, reflected the true spirit of volunteerism, and proved to be a formidable, yet attainable, challenge; and WHEREAS, for his project, he installed a story walk, a way for people of all ages to
simultaneously enjoy literature and the outdoors, at Norman Binkley Elementary School; and WHEREAS, Benjamin's noteworthy achievement is a tremendous source of pride for his parents, George and Joan Andrews; his brother, Samuel Andrews; and his community; and WHEREAS, it is appropriate that we should pause to recognize Benjamin Andrews as
one of the most outstanding young people in our State; now, therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRTEENTH
GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE HOUSE OF
REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING, that we hereby honor and congratulate Benjamin Andrews on becoming an Eagle Scout and extend to him our best wishes for every future success.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to
the appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appear without House or Senate designation.
