HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION 620

A RESOLUTION to recognize Terry Cobb on the occasion of his retirement.
WHEREAS, it is appropriate that the members of this General Assembly should honor those citizens who have performed with uncommon devotion and enthusiasm throughout their years of public service; and WHEREAS, one such estimable person is Terry Cobb, who, having admirably served the citizens of Nashville and Davidson County as director of the Metro Nashville Codes Department for twenty-eight years, is taking his well-deserved retirement at the end of April
2023; and WHEREAS, with his retirement, Mr. Cobb caps his extraordinary career as the longest-
serving department head in Metro Nashville history; and WHEREAS, Terry Cobb has served under five Nashville mayors and guided the Codes Department through a long period of growth in building construction, ensuring that Nashville's buildings have been constructed to be safe for residents, workers, and visitors alike while improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the permitting process; and WHEREAS, Mr. Cobb exemplifies the spirit and allegiance to family and community that are characteristic of a true Tennessean; and WHEREAS, throughout his illustrious tenure as director of the Metro Nashville Codes Department, Terry Cobb has distinguished himself as a public-spirited citizen of the highest order, winning the unbridled respect and admiration of his colleagues and the citizens he has so
ably served; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED
THIRTEENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE SENATE
CONCURRING, that we commend Terry Cobb for his honorable and astute service to the HJR0620

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to
