A RESOLUTION to honor and commend Carol Evans for her meritorious service as executive director of the Legacy Parks Foundation.
WHEREAS, it is fitting that the members of this General Assembly should salute those citizens who, through their extraordinary efforts, have distinguished themselves as community leaders of whom we can all be proud; and WHEREAS, one such estimable individual is Carol Evans, who has rendered sterling service in her position as executive director of the Legacy Parks Foundation and distinguished herself as a professional of the greatest dedication, ability, and integrity; and WHEREAS, Ms. Evans received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from the University of Georgia and a Master of Science degree in Education from the University of
Tennessee; and WHEREAS, with more than twenty-five years of event management and public relations experience, Ms. Evans managed marketing initiatives for the Scripps Networks, the Knoxville Chamber Partnership, the Dogwood Arts Festival, and multiple public relations clients; she additionally served as the first marketing director for the University of Tennessee Lady Vols; and WHEREAS, during her tenure with Legacy Parks Foundation, the organization has raised more than $11 million for parks, trails, and open space and added more than 700 acres of land for parks in Knox County; and WHEREAS, no stranger to awards and accolades, Ms. Evans is the recipient of the Ijams Spirit in Leadership Award and the East Tennessee Community Design Center Bruce McCarty Community Impact Award; she has been named a Fountain City Woman of the Year,
and she is a graduate of Leadership Knoxville, Leadership Tennessee, and East Tennessee Regional Leadership; and HJR0330

WHEREAS, an exceptional and influential leader of her community, Ms. Evans has committed her time and talents to several organizations and boards, including the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame, Habitat for Humanity, Christenberry Boys & Girls Club, Friends of
Island Home Airport, the Williams Creek Foundation, and the Knox County Parks Advisory Board; and WHEREAS, Carol Evans epitomizes the spirit and commitment that are characteristic of
a true Tennessean; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED
THIRTEENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE SENATE
CONCURRING, that we hereby honor and commend Carol Evans on her distinguished service as executive director of the Legacy Parks Foundation and wish her every continued success in
her future endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to
the appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appear without House or Senate designation.
