HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION 285

A RESOLUTION to honor and congratulate the 2023 Mule Day Court Second Runner Up, Anissa Rose Grimes.
WHEREAS, it is fitting that the members of this General Assembly should salute those young citizens who, through their extraordinary efforts, have distinguished themselves as
outstanding Tennesseans of whom we can all be proud; and WHEREAS, one such noteworthy person is Anissa Rose Grimes, who was recently selected as the 2023 Mule Day Court Second Runner Up; and WHEREAS, the daughter of Nora Grimes and the late Walter F. Grimes, Jr., Anissa Grimes is a freshman at Columbia State Community College; her future plans include pursuing
a degree in nursing and working in neuro-oncology; and WHEREAS, a community-oriented individual, Anissa Grimes has distributed goodie bags to local nursing homes and assisted living facilities for the last three holiday seasons. She also dedicates her free time to volunteering at her church, Sandy Hook Church of Christ, during seasonal events; and WHEREAS, Ms. Grimes's noteworthy achievement is a tremendous source of pride for her family, her community, and the citizens of Maury County; and WHEREAS, the Mule Day Queen and her court play a prominent role in the promotion of
Mule Day, participating in media interviews and serving as hostesses during the festivities; and WHEREAS, 2023 Mule Day Court Second Runner Up Anissa Grimes epitomizes the spirit of distinction and the commitment to greatness that are characteristic of true Tennesseans; her dedication to excellence is clearly deserving of the respect and admiration of

WHEREAS, the members of this General Assembly find it appropriate to pause in their deliberations to acknowledge and applaud this young woman for her remarkable achievement;
now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED
THIRTEENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE SENATE
CONCURRING, that that we honor and congratulate Anissa Rose Grimes upon being selected as the 2023 Mule Day Court Second Runner Up, extending to her our best wishes for every future success and happiness.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made to
the appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appear without House or Senate designation.
