Title 29; Title 33; Title 34; Title 36; Title 37; Title
39; Title 40; Title 49; Title 56; Title 63; Title 68 and Title 71, relative to treatment of minors.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE:
SECTION 1. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 63-1-169(b), is amended by deleting the language "for gender dysphoric or gender incongruent prepubertal minors" and substituting instead the language "to enable a minor to identify with, or live as, a purported identity inconsistent with the minor's sex or treat purported discomfort or distress from a discordance between a minor's sex and asserted identity".
SECTION 2. If any provision of this act or its application to any person or circumstance is held invalid, then the invalidity does not affect other provisions or applications of this act that can be given effect without the invalid provision or application, and to that end, the provisions of
this act are severable.
SECTION 3. This act takes effect July 1, 2023, the public welfare requiring it.
