A RESOLUTION to confirm the appointment of Beverly Johnson to the advisory board for the University of
Tennessee Southern.
WHEREAS, Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 49-9-501, established advisory boards for the University of Tennessee, Knoxville; University of Tennessee at Martin; University of
Tennessee at Chattanooga; University of Tennessee Health Science Center; and University of
Tennessee Southern; and WHEREAS, Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 49-9-501, provides that the governor shall appoint five members to each advisory board; and WHEREAS, Governor Bill Lee has appointed Beverly Johnson to serve as a member of
the advisory board for the University of Tennessee Southern for a term that expires on June 30,
2026; and WHEREAS, a highly successful businesswoman, Beverly Johnson is the owner and operator of Appraisal Associate, Appraisals Real Estate Company; previously, she served with acumen and alacrity as a broker for Wilson Real Estate Company and as a teacher for the Giles County School System; and WHEREAS, Ms. Johnson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics,
Merchandising, from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and a Master of Education degree in Education from Middle Tennessee State University; and WHEREAS, Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 49-9-501, provides that each member appointed by the governor to the advisory board for the University of Tennessee Southern shall be confirmed by the general assembly; now, therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRTEENTH
GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE HOUSE OF
REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING, that we hereby confirm the appointment of Beverly Johnson to the advisory board for the University of Tennessee Southern for a term that expires on June 30, 2026.
