By Faison AN ACT to amend Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 2-
6-202, relative to the election process.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE:
SECTION 1. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 2-6-202(a), is amended by adding the following as a new subdivision:
(5) A county election commission shall not mail, or otherwise transmit, an application to vote absentee unless the county election commission receives a written request from a voter pursuant to subdivision (a)(3). This prohibition applies to an application to vote absentee and a form that can be used as an application to vote absentee, but does not apply to an application to vote absentee that is mailed to voters on the permanent absentee voting register under § 2-6-201(3)(A).
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon becoming a law, the public welfare requiring it.
