                                       SENATE BILL 338
                                           By Gilmore AN ACT to amend Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 40,
                                            Chapter 29, Part 2, relative to the restoration of
                                            voting rights.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE:
       SECTION 1. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 40-29-202, is amended by deleting subsection (c) and substituting:
               Notwithstanding subsection (a), a person is not eligible to apply for a voter registration card and have the right of suffrage restored, unless the person consistently pays at least a portion of the person's child support obligations each month.
       SECTION 2. This act takes effect July 1, 2021, the public welfare requiring it.
