This bill amends the "Health Care for Elderly and Disabled Residents Act" to increase the income limits for elderly or disabled individuals to qualify for medical assistance coverage. Currently, individuals who are 65 years or older or disabled and have an income that does not exceed 100% of the federal poverty level are eligible for coverage. This bill would increase the income limit to 180% of the federal poverty level. The bill also specifies that the resources of these individuals should not exceed $4,000 per individual or $6,000 per couple. The bill would take effect upon passage.
