This bill amends current law to require health insurance plans to provide coverage for FDA-approved prescription contraceptive drugs and devices. The coverage must include all FDA-approved contraceptive drugs, devices, and other products, as well as voluntary sterilization procedures and clinical services related to contraception. The bill also prohibits plans from imposing deductibles, coinsurance, copayments, or any other cost-sharing requirements on this coverage. Additionally, the bill requires the Department of Health to monitor plan compliance and submit an annual report on its findings.

The bill also allows medical service corporations to issue health insurance plans to religious employers that exclude coverage for prescription contraceptive methods that are contrary to the employer's religious beliefs. However, this exclusion does not apply to contraceptive services or procedures provided for purposes other than contraception.
