This bill, titled "Posting of Veterans' Benefits and Services," would require employers in Rhode Island with more than 50 employees to display a poster containing information on veterans' benefits and services. The poster would be created and distributed by the Department of Labor and Training in consultation with the Office of Veterans Services. The poster would include information on services available to veterans such as contact information for the Office of Veterans Services and the Department's veterans' program, substance abuse and mental health treatment, educational and training resources, tax benefits, Rhode Island state veteran drivers' licenses and non-driver identification cards, eligibility for unemployment insurance benefits, legal services, and contact information for the United States Department of Veterans Affairs veterans crisis line. The bill would take effect on January 1, 2024.
