This bill amends current law regarding accidents resulting in personal injury or death. It adds a new section that requires the driver of any vehicle involved in an accident resulting in injury, serious bodily injury, or death to immediately stop at the scene of the accident and fulfill certain requirements. Failure to do so can result in a loss of license for at least one year, imprisonment for up to five years, and a fine of up to $5,000. The bill also increases the penalties for failing to stop or comply with requirements in accidents resulting in serious bodily injury or death. The license of the person can be revoked for up to ten years, and the person may face imprisonment for up to fifteen years and a fine of up to $5,000.

Additionally, the bill amends other sections of the law to increase the penalties for driving so as to endanger, resulting in death or serious bodily injury. The penalties include imprisonment for up to thirty years, revocation of the person's license for at least five years, and a fine of up to $10,000. The bill defines "serious bodily injury" as physical injury that creates a substantial risk of death or causes serious permanent disfigurement or protracted loss or impairment of bodily function.
