This bill amends the qualifications for obtaining an athletic trainer license. It adds a new requirement that, starting on January 1, 2024, athletic trainers must successfully complete training and be issued a certificate pursuant to the provisions of § 23-6.4-6 in order to obtain or maintain their license. Additionally, the bill adds a new section that requires all licensed athletic trainers to be trained and equipped with an epinephrine auto-injector (epi-pen) while performing their duties, starting on January 1, 2024. The bill would take effect upon passage.
