This bill, titled "Sale of Tax Credits," would amend Title 42 of the General Laws to require the attorney general's office to regulate the sale of tax credits. The attorney general's office would be responsible for adopting rules and regulations for the supervision of the sale of tax credits by brokers or salespersons, as well as establishing qualifications for those certified to act as brokers or salespersons. The attorney general's office would also maintain an official certified list of all persons authorized to act as brokers and salespersons of tax credits. Additionally, the bill states that sellers must use brokers or salespersons from the attorney general's certified list on a fair and rotating basis. The bill would take effect upon passage.
