This bill amends the Fair Employment Practices law to prohibit employers from refusing to hire applicants based on their race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, disability, age, or country of ancestral origin. It also prohibits discrimination against employees based on these characteristics in terms of hire, tenure, compensation, or any other matter related to employment. The bill includes provisions related to reasonable accommodations for employees with disabilities and the disclosure of internal complaints of workplace harassment.

The bill also extends these protections to employment agencies, labor organizations, and other employee referring sources. It prohibits these entities from discriminating against individuals based on protected characteristics and from complying with employer requests for job applicants that indicate a lack of equal employment opportunities. The bill also includes provisions related to labor organizations, criminal background checks in the employment application process, and the adjustment of benefits or compensation to comply with fair employment practices.
