This bill amends the "Health Care for Elderly and Disabled Residents Act" to increase the income limits for disabled individuals to qualify for medical assistance coverage. Currently, individuals who are 65 years or older or disabled and meet certain income and resource requirements are eligible for coverage. The bill increases the income limit from 100% to 180% of the federal poverty level. The bill also clarifies that the coverage provided to elderly individuals will be the same as that provided to other categorically needy individuals. The bill will take effect upon passage.
