This bill amends the "Health Care for Elderly and Disabled Residents Act" to increase the income eligibility limit for medical assistance coverage for seniors and disabled individuals from 100% to 138% of the federal poverty level. The Department of Human Services is authorized to amend its state plan to provide this coverage. The bill also specifies that the coverage provided to these individuals should be the same as that provided to other categorically needy persons under the state's plan. The bill will take effect upon passage.
