AN ACT
1 Amending the act of November 25, 2020 (P.L.1253, No.132),
2 entitled "An act providing for funding of high-speed
3 broadband service infrastructure deployment in unserved areas
4 of this Commonwealth and for powers and duties of the
5 Commonwealth Financing Authority; establishing the Unserved
6 High-speed Broadband Funding Program Account; making an
7 appropriation; and making a related repeal," further
8 providing for appropriation.
9 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
10 hereby enacts as follows:
11 Section 1. Section 9 of the act of November 25, 2020
12 (P.L.1253, No.132), known as the Unserved High-Speed Broadband
13 Funding Program Act, is amended to read:
14 Section 9. Appropriation.
15 (a) Initial appropriation.--The sum of $5,000,000 is hereby
16 appropriated to the authority from the General Fund for the
17 2020-2021 fiscal year for purposes of the program.
18 (b) Additional appropriation.--In addition to any other
19 money appropriated to the authority under this section, the sum
20 of $500,000,000 is appropriated to the authority from money
1 received by the Commonwealth under Title IX, Subtitle M, section
2 9901 of the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (Public Law 117-2,
3 135 Stat. 4) and deposited into the COVID-19 Response Restricted
4 Account for the purpose of supporting programs under this act.
5 This appropriation shall not lapse.
6 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
