AN ACT
1 Providing for audit of the voter registration database by the
2 Secretary of the Commonwealth; and providing for a report to
3 the General Assembly.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Short title.
7 This act shall be known and may be cited as the Voter
8 Registration Database Audit Act.
9 Section 2. Definitions.
10 The following words and phrases when used in this act shall
11 have the meanings given to them in this section unless the
12 context clearly indicates otherwise:
13 "Secretary." The Secretary of the Commonwealth.
14 "Voter registration database." The database of voter
15 registrations maintained by the Department of State.
16 Section 3. Duty to conduct audit.
17 The secretary shall conduct an audit of the voter
18 registration database and, after completion of the audit, shall
1 eliminate from the database all deceased and inactive electors.
2 Section 4. Report to General Assembly.
3 The secretary shall, within 60 days of the effective date of
4 this section, file a written report with the General Assembly
5 that states all of the findings of the audit required by this
6 act.
7 Section 5. Effective date.
8 This act shall take effect immediately.
