7 An Act relating to definitions and general
7 provisions; making designation for Space Day;
8 providing for codification; and declaring an

12 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:

13 SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
13
14 in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 90.28 of Title 25, unless there
14
15 is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:
15
16 September 17 of each year is hereby designated as "Space Day",
16
17 in honor of the birthday of Thomas P. Stafford, retired Lieutenant
17
18 General, United States Air Force and native Oklahoman, and to bring
18
19 awareness regarding human achievements related to the study of space
19
20 and its exploration, including but not limited to travel to and from
20
21 the Moon, the use of probes to learn more about our solar system,
21
22 planets, asteroids and other celestial objects, the possibility of
22
23 travel to and from planets in our solar system and the value of
23
24

1 space exploration with its associated impact on science and

2 technology.

3 SECTION 2. It being immediately necessary for the preservation
3
4 of the public peace, health or safety, an emergency is hereby
4
5 declared to exist, by reason whereof this act shall take effect and
5
6 be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
