7 An Act relating to teachers; requiring certain
7 teachers who take and pass certain examination to be
8 reimbursed certain amount; providing for
8 codification; providing an effective date; and
9 declaring an emergency.

12 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:

13 SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
13
14 in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 6-101.9 of Title 70, unless
14
15 there is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:

16 A teacher who is certified pursuant to Section 6-122.3 or 6-187
16
17 of Title 70 of the Oklahoma Statutes and who, at the request of the
17
18 employing school district, takes and passes a subject area
18
19 competency examination required by Section 6-187 of Title 70 of the
19
20 Oklahoma Statutes to earn certification and teach an additional
20
21 subject in the school district shall be reimbursed by the school
21
22 district. The reimbursement shall be an amount equal to the cost of
22
23 the subject area competency examination.

24 SECTION 2. This act shall become effective July 1, 2023.

 1 SECTION 3. It being immediately necessary for the preservation

2 of the public peace, health, or safety, an emergency is hereby
2
3 declared to exist, by reason whereof this act shall take effect and
3
4 be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
