A RESOLUTION
Honoring Matt Kowalski
on securing a 2024 Division I State Wrestling Championship title.
WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 135th 1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to 2
Matt Kowalski as the 2024 Division I State Wrestling Champion in the 3
190-pound weight class; and 4
WHEREAS, Matt Kowalski is deserving of this prestigious title, a 5
tribute to the remarkable athletic gifts and indomitable spirit that 6
he has so amply displayed as a junior member of the Springboro High 7
School wrestling team. A tenacious competitor, he could always be 8
counted on to shine, and understandably, the strength, agility, 9
stamina, and skill that he has exhibited have earned him many 10
admirers; and 11
WHEREAS, Matt Kowalski has conscientiously applied himself to the 12
quest for excellence as an athlete, training and practicing diligently 13
in order to ensure peak conditioning. Time and again, he has risen to 14
the occasion, maintaining his morale, composure, and good 15
sportsmanship, and he has gained the respect of even his most 16
determined rivals. Clearly, his enthusiastic involvement in athletics 17
has enabled him to learn much about dedication, self-discipline, and 18
leadership, and in the process, his exceptional prowess has set a fine 19
example that is sure to inspire future generations of wrestlers; and 20
WHEREAS, Wrestling is a demanding sport that requires exceptional 21
strength, stamina, and natural ability, and Matt Kowalski is to be 22
commended for his exemplary performance at this year’s Division I 23
State Championship meet, where he defeated a tough opponent from St. 24
Edward to secure the crown and finish the season with a 49-4 record. 25
Throughout extensive practice and preparation, he has developed into a 26

dynamic competitor, and it is our hope that he will take the lessons 27
learned from this triumph and apply them well as he pursues his goals 28
in the years ahead; therefore be it 29
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of 30
the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, pay 31
tribute to Matt Kowalski on his tremendous athletic achievement and 32
commend him on an outstanding season; and be it further 33
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit 34
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Matt Kowalski. 35
