A RESOLUTION
Honoring Steve Gerten
as the 2024 National Land Improvement Contractors Association
Contractor of the Year.
WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 135th 1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to applaud Steve Gerten on being 2
named the 2024 Contractor of the Year by the National Land Improvement 3
Contractors Association; and 4
WHEREAS, The esteemed owner of Inbody Drainage Co., Inc., and a 5
farmer, Steve Gerten has brought his wealth of drainage experience to 6
the agriculture industry for more than five decades, and among his 7
remarkable professional endeavors, he has supported the Ohio Land 8
Improvement Contractors Association as its president and field days 9
chair as well as the National Land Improvement Contractors Association 10
as its president, region 3 vice president, and board chair. In 11
addition, he has actively participated in the Overholt Drainage School 12
and its advisory committee, and he has built tremendous relationships 13
with the Ohio Farmers Union and Ohio Farm Bureau; and 14
WHEREAS, The enthusiasm and commitment Steve Gerten has shown 15
through his dedicated efforts have gained him the respect and 16
admiration of all those with whom he has been associated. An exemplary 17
resident of the Village of Leipsic and the State of Ohio, he has 18
worked to conserve local land and water resources, thereby allowing 19
area farmers to use responsible practices, and his efforts are 20
reflected in his tireless leadership and continual advocacy for the 21
success of his community; and 22
WHEREAS, Steve Gerten can be proud of his instrumental 23
contributions to agriculture in our state, and his record of 24

excellence is deserving of celebration. Indeed, he has upheld the 25
highest standards and principles of the National Land Improvement 26
Contractors Association, and his stewardship, vision, and integrity 27
have certainly distinguished him as worthy of the 2024 Contractor of 28
the Year Award; therefore be it 29
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of 30
the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, 31
congratulate Steve Gerten on this prestigious national accolade and 32
salute him as a fine Ohioan; and be it further 33
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit 34
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Steve Gerten. 35
