A RESOLUTION
Honoring Westerville Winds
as 2023 Ohio Indoor Performance Association Champion.
WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 135th 1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to 2
Westerville Winds on winning first place in the winds independent A 3
category at the 2023 Ohio Indoor Performance Association Championship; 4
and 5
WHEREAS, In its inaugural year, Westerville Winds has 6
distinguished itself as one of the finest indoor winds performance 7
groups in the state, and all those associated with this ensemble are 8
deserving of commendation. Over the course of many long hours of 9
practice to learn and hone their routine of the Knights of the Red 10
Table, the members have developed exceptional musical, dance, and 11
interpretive abilities, as well as outstanding confidence and 12
discipline, and consequently, they placed first in the winds 13
independent A category at this year’s Ohio Indoor Performance 14
Association Championship and advanced to the Winter Guard 15
International Finals, where they placed fourth in the independent A 16
winds category; and 17
WHEREAS, Westerville Winds members Jillian Beaty, Austin Blose, 18
Bryana Blose, Justin Blose, Kris Brown, Jack Gagnon, Daemon Gordon, 19
Luke Grochocki, Faith Hall, Gena Hayes, Jessica Hefty, Lucy Leviyah, 20
Abby Long, Julie Mason, Robbie Spence, Scotti Smith, and Katie Walker 21
have earned a level of respect and appreciation of which they can be 22
proud. Indeed, they have worked tirelessly to become one of Ohio’s 23
best and most diverse units, and their efforts are deserving of 24
admiration; and 25
WHEREAS, Participation in organizations such as this provides a 26

unique opportunity for people of all ages to come together, to develop 27
their skills, and to enjoy a special camaraderie while learning the 28
true value of perseverance, poise, and cooperation. Under the capable 29
leadership of Executive Director Kriss Davis, Music Director Jordi 30
Villanova, Visual Director Kyle Buflod, Choreographer Christopher 31
Pohlman, and a host of others, the members of Westerville Winds have 32
achieved the balance, blend, and harmony which are the hallmarks of 33
superior performance, and truly, they have represented their hometown 34
with distinction; therefore be it 35
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of 36
the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, pay 37
tribute to Westerville Winds on its recent achievement and salute such 38
a talented group of people whose future holds great promise; and be it 39
further 40
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit 41
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Westerville Winds. 42
