                       A RESOLUTION
            Honoring the Richmond Heights High School boys basketball
              team on securing the 2023 Division IV State
              Championship.
     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 135th General Assembly    1
of Ohio are pleased to applaud the Richmond Heights High School boys     2
basketball team as the 2023 Division IV State Champion; and              3
     WHEREAS, The members of the Richmond Heights High School boys       4
basketball team are to be heartily commended, for the Spartans bested    5
the squad from Crestview High School by a score of 70-26 to win this     6
year’s Division IV State Championship, their second such consecutive     7
title. The unwavering commitment of the players has earned them the      8
esteem of many, and they are certainly deserving of acknowledgement;     9
and                                                                      10
     WHEREAS, Coach Quentin Rogers has demonstrated remarkable energy,   11
enthusiasm, and dedication in guiding the Richmond Heights High School   12
boys basketball team to victory, and his skill is reflected in the       13
squad’s outstanding accomplishments during the 2022-2023 season. Due     14
largely to his tireless efforts, he has gained the respect and           15
admiration of all who know him; and                                      16
     WHEREAS, In an educational system that seeks to teach the future    17
leaders of our state the fundamentals of self-reliance and the rewards   18
of individual and group effort, athletic competition has become a        19
valuable tool. Through their participation in sports, the members of     20
the Richmond Heights High School boys basketball team have learned       21
lessons of discipline, perseverance, hard work, and good sportsmanship   22
that will undoubtedly be of great benefit to them throughout their       23
lives; therefore be it                                                   24

As Adopted by the Senate
     RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 135th General        25
Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, pay tribute to the             26
Richmond Heights High School boys basketball team as the 2023 Division        27
IV State Champion and offer best wishes for ongoing success; and be it        28
further                                                                       29
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly                   30
authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Richmond Heights High            31
School boys basketball team.                                                  32
