                       A RESOLUTION
    Honoring the Defiance County Tigers school-age basketball team
  on winning the 2023 Ohio Special Olympics Winter Games Division 2
                             Championship.
     WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 135th   1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to commend the Defiance County      2
Tigers school-age basketball team as the 2023 Ohio Special Olympics      3
Winter Games Division 2 Champions; and                                   4
     WHEREAS, Known as a driven and spirited squad, the members of the   5
Defiance County Tigers school-age basketball team have developed into    6
an accomplished group of athletes whose talent is equaled only by        7
their admirable display of teamwork. Without exception, they had         8
prepared conscientiously in pursuit of the championship, devoting        9
countless hours to training and practice in order to ensure peak         10
conditioning; and                                                        11
     WHEREAS, The members of the Defiance County Tigers school-age       12
basketball team have demonstrated remarkable energy, enthusiasm, and     13
dedication in all of their endeavors. Indeed, they have epitomized the   14
motivation and poise that befit authentic champions, and as a result,    15
they defeated a tough West Licking Warriors team by the score of 43-41   16
to win this year’s Ohio Special Olympics Winter Games Division 2         17
Championship title; and                                                  18
     WHEREAS, Each athlete on the Defiance County Tigers school-age      19
basketball team has exemplified the qualities necessary for excellence   20
both in and out of sports. Through their participation in competition,   21
these fine players have learned lessons of hard work and good            22
sportsmanship that will undoubtedly be of great benefit to them          23
throughout their lives; therefore be it                                  24

As Adopted by the House
     RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of 25
the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution,       26
applaud the Defiance County Tigers school-age basketball team on its   27
success and extend best wishes for the future; and be it further       28
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit 29
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Defiance County    30
Tigers school-age basketball team.                                     31
